*THOMAS FORSYTHE married to Margaret Elizabeth Borden, daughter of John Alexander and Maria Jane (Bentley) Borden (see photo) on the day of September 25, 1889. Thomas was a great lover of horses and always drove one of the best. He had apple orchards and raised red foxes for furs. Margaret had been a school teacher in various parts of King's Co. She was an avid reader and possessed a keen mind. She loved to piece patchwork quilts. Their
children were:
Thomas died on August 10, 1932 at Sheffield Mills, after residing there for 52 years. Margaret died December 25, 1952 at the home of her son Thomas in Sheffield Mills. They are buried at the United Church Cemetery at Canard.
He was a veteran of World War 1 and a Grand Master of the Grand
Lodge of Nova Scotia and of the Scotia League and had served on the King's
Co Council for two terms. Donald died
November 30, 1977 and Josephine died June 29, 1981 at the Blanchard Fraser
Memorial Hospital in Kentville. They were both buried at Habitant Cemetery. Their children are:
